Maricopa

2026

Teamwork

Councils work best when neighborhoods, businesses, and city staff are pulling the same direction.

Transparency

Open meetings, plain-language updates, and decisions residents can actually follow.

Results

Fewer press releases, more finished projects that people can see in their own neighborhood.

Priorities

A plan as bold as Maricopa.

Four commitments that shape how we lead, listen, and deliver for every neighborhood in our city.

01

Smart Growth + Infrastructure

Plan for the Maricopa of tomorrow with roads, water, and services that keep pace with our community.

02

Economic Development + Local Business

Cut red tape, invest in entrepreneurs, and bring quality jobs that keep dollars in Maricopa.

03

Community Voice + Transparency

Open meetings, clear data, real listening. Government that answers to the people it serves.

04

Youth + Family Investment

Programs, parks, and partnerships that give every child and family a chance to thrive.

About the candidate

Meet Chrystal O'Jon.

“Helping and serving people and giving back to your community is the rent you pay for living on this earth.”
Chrystal O'Jon

Chrystal is co-founder of the Black Maricopa Chamber of Commerce and publisher of Maricopa Lifestyle Magazine, where she connects residents and amplifies the voices that shape our city.

She serves as Vice President of Operations & Marketing for the Maricopa Veteran Care Center, and co-produces the Maricopa Desert Music & Arts Festival, now in its second year, investing in youth through music and arts programs.

As co-host of the What Now? Show, she spotlights small businesses, talks openly about mental health, and makes room for real conversations about the issues Maricopa families face.

With 30+ years in business, nonprofit leadership, and community development — and as a mother and grandmother — her commitment is personal.
